Walletguide GmbH ("Walletguide", "we") uses cookies in the Walletguide application at app.walletguide.com (the "Services"). This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we set, and how you can control them. It applies to our websites at walletguide.com (the "Websites") as well.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. On your next visit, the browser sends them back, which lets the site recognize you, keep you signed in, or remember a choice you made. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies; cookies set by other companies through that site are third-party cookies. Session cookies disappear when you close the browser, persistent cookies expire after a set time.
Our approach
We keep cookie use deliberately small. We do not use analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies anywhere. What remains are the sign-in cookies of the Services.
Cookies on the Websites (walletguide.com)
We set no cookies on the Websites. Our web analytics work without cookies (see our privacy policy).
The one exception is one you ask for: opening a page of the Websites with ?wg-analytics=off stores the cookie wg_analytics_optout for one year, which excludes your browser from our web analytics (?wg-analytics=on removes it). We use it to keep our own visits out of the numbers.
Some blog posts embed videos from YouTube (Google), in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, or from our video hosting at videos.walletguide.com. If you play such a video, the video platform may store its own cookies or similar data in your browser. See our privacy policy for what these embeds transmit.
Cookies in the Services (app.walletguide.com)
These cookies are strictly necessary and therefore set without consent:
__Secure-walletguide-production...
A small set of cookies with this name prefix that manage your sign-in session and keep it secure.
Type: First-party, strictly necessary Duration: Up to 7 days
wgEmailVerificationSent
Set for a few seconds after we send you an email address verification, so reloading the page does not send the email again.
Type: First-party, strictly necessary Duration: 10 seconds
No other cookies are set in the Services, and no third party sets cookies through them.
Your choices
The Services set no optional cookies, so there is nothing to opt in to or out of. You can delete or block cookies in your browser. Instructions for the most common browsers:
Note that blocking the strictly necessary cookies prevents signing in to the Services.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we will post a prominent notice on our Websites before the change takes effect.
