We are excited to share that we have embarked on a new phase for Walletguide. Over the past few months, we have dedicated most of our time to relaunch and refine Walletguide, with the goal of enhancing your experience and making our product the best it can be. Going forward, both of us co-founders will spend the majority of our time developing the product and seeing if we can find product market fit.
Did Walletguide’s mission change?
Our mission remains the same: "Improving your life through financial health".
Walletguide is designed to help you analyze your personal finances and provide guidance for a better financial future. The product gives you an overview across all your assets, allowing you to determine your net worth, plan ahead, and make informed decisions.
We believe that by understanding your financial situation better, you can take steps towards improving your financial health.
You can also read about the initial idea in our blog post from 2020.
What did we work on in the last months?
During this period, we have been quietly testing our improvements and new features with a select group of users. This has allowed us to gain valuable insights and feedback, which have been key in our development process. We are incredibly grateful to these initial test users for their time and input.
I am proud to say that we have made significant strides in enhancing some core features of Walletguide. We have refined the automatic bank import feature, ensuring your transactions are seamlessly updated in your Walletguide account. We have also improved the automated tagging and categorization of transactions, making it easier for you to track and understand your spending habits. In addition, we have introduced multi-user support, allowing you to manage shared finances more effectively.
In the following video you can take a look at the current state of the product:
One decision we took in the last months is to NOT use end-to-end encryption for the start. We know this has been a big point in our initial product idea, but with all the latest developments in AI and other close-by fields, we believe that we can bring much more value to our users by keeping the data more accessible. Of course, we will never share your data with anyone else beside you. Also, we are still using all state-of-the-art technologies to encrypt all data in transport and in the database (Encryption at rest).
What are limitations of the current product?
Currently, Walletguide does not include a feature for automated investment or portfolio tracking. However, we've designed a workaround for our users who wish to track their portfolios. You can manually update the value of your portfolios, for instance, on a monthly basis. This allows you to keep an eye on your investments, even if it's not automated just yet.
Additionally, we are continuously working on enhancing our forecasting features. We recognize the value of accurate and intuitive financial forecasting for our users, and we're committed to improving this aspect of Walletguide. We believe that despite these current limitations, Walletguide offers a robust platform for managing your finances.
If you're comfortable with manually updating your portfolio values, and if you're excited about the prospect of improved forecasting features, we invite you to try Walletguide. Your feedback will be invaluable in helping us refine and enhance our platform to better serve your needs.
What have we planned for the future?
As we move forward, we are very confident that Walletguide is in a strong position to provide lots of value to our users. However, we know there is always room for improvement, so we are keen to continue adding more users and collecting more feedback. If you want to give it a try, you can sign up here.
What are the plans for the company setup and building a team?
As with our last company, quintly, we want to build up Walletguide in a bootstrapped way. For now, only the two of us are working on it. Depending on how fast we can find product market fit, we will of course extend the team at the right time.
Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this exciting new chapter for Walletguide.
